Focus Projects ETH

What are focus projects at ETH Zurich?

Focus projects, offered by the department of mechanical and process engineering, allows bachelor students to implement their theoretical knowledge over the course of a nine month practical engineering project. During this nine month process, teams are challenged to develop an innovative project. Teams complete an entire product development cycle, from conception, design, production and marketing.

Teams consist of 3 to 8 students, who realize their product over the course of two semesters. Beginning with a market or technical challenge, the teams develop their ideas and complete a technical development cycle that includes marketing, idea generation, design, engineering, simulation, technical drawing and production.
