Dipper

Our team consists of 8 engineering students from ETH Zurich, 2 electrical and 6 mechanical engineering students. Over the course of a year long focus project, we are developing a winged aircraft which is capable of:

• Dynamically diving from the air into the water
• Moving freely underwater
• Transitioning from the water surface back into the air

These specifications require innovative solutions, as we are taking on a diverse set of unsolved problems. We are principally a research project, and are interested in developing a proof of concept. Through this research we hope to enable new possibilities in the topics of marine wildlife control and search and rescue.
